Why Rome is One of the Most Visited Cities in the World

The capital and largest city in Italy, Rome attracts millions of visitors every year.

People are drawn to this magnificent city mainly due to its long and varied history, which is reflected by the its wealth of varied and interesting architecture. It is therefore little wonder that annual research reveals that Rome is constantly within the top ten most visited cities in the world.

To cater for the steady influx of tourists, there is an almost in- exhaustive choice of Rome apartments and accommodation such as hotels and guest houses available to cater for all tastes and budgets.

For the many religious pilgrims wishing to visit the Vatican, the centre of the Roman Catholic church, accommodation situated nearest to the confides of the Vatican City would be the most convenient choice.

Those tourists attracted by the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps and other historical monuments will be seeking accommodation towards the centre of the city.

Of course as is the case in many popular tourist cities, the cost of accommodation all depends upon the location. Centrally located apartments and hotels situated close to popular sites are more expensive than those further out of the city. Therefore holiday accommodation bargains can be found for those willing and able to travel to the main attractions.
